Private BioChain – The BioChain
PRIVATE BIOCHAIN

Your research. Your infrastructure. Verifiable provenance.

Private BioChain gives research organisations dedicated infrastructure for establishing the provenance, integrity and history of biological data — without requiring confidential research data to become public.

Dedicated to your organisation.

Private BioChain provides a dedicated BioChain environment designed around the security, sovereignty and integration requirements of your organisation.

Deploy within your own infrastructure or an appropriately controlled environment, while retaining the provenance and verification capabilities of the BioChain platform. The underlying biological data does not need to be made public.

Four requirements, one infrastructure.

01
Research provenance
Establish where biological data originated, how it was generated and what has happened to it throughout its lifecycle.
02
Reproducibility
Maintain verifiable histories of experiments, methods, results, revisions and associated records.
03
IP protection
Create timestamped evidence of research activity and development history that can help establish when work was undertaken and how intellectual property developed.
04
Audit and regulatory readiness
Maintain persistent, traceable records that can support internal governance, quality systems, audits and regulated workflows.

Works with the systems you already use.

Private BioChain is not intended to replace the specialist systems used to conduct biological research. It provides an integrity and provenance layer capable of connecting the systems you already run — Laboratory Information Management Systems, Electronic Laboratory Notebooks, laboratory instruments, robotics and automated laboratory systems, AI and computational research systems, and existing organisational APIs.

The proposition is not "replace your laboratory software with BioChain." It is: add a persistent integrity and provenance layer across the systems you already use.

Keep private data private.

The value of verifiable provenance should not depend on making confidential biological research public. Private BioChain is designed to let organisations retain control of underlying research data while establishing independently verifiable histories around it — particularly important for IP-sensitive research, pre-publication science, commercial R&D, regulated research and multi-party collaborations.

Private BioChains can also form part of a wider trust infrastructure in which organisations selectively share or verify appropriate information without exposing their complete research records — private data, verifiable provenance, selective collaboration. This federated capability is part of the BioChain roadmap rather than something available today, and we won't describe it otherwise.

Deployment.

01
On-premises
Deploy BioChain within infrastructure controlled by your organisation.
02
Private cloud
Dedicated infrastructure within an appropriate private cloud environment.
03
Managed Private BioChain
A dedicated environment operated with BioChain's support.

Private BioChain: dedicated deployment.

Every deployment includes a dedicated environment, implementation and configuration, integration support, access and role configuration, technical support, and optional managed infrastructure.

Pricing depends on deployment complexity — we quote after understanding what you need rather than publishing a fixed number that wouldn't reflect your actual deployment.
